I agree with ValeTudoGuy - I don't think the PSD4 is a particularly strong cigar, the thing to worry about with them is that they are inconsistent, I have had terrible ones and great ones

    How?

    And hi and welcome

Like a whisky with a cigar too. Generally only smoke Cubans and drink speyside, its not resulted in a bad combination yet.

Hello. Here's how Hunters and Frankau rate Cuban cigars

As a guide. Size and smoking time would be another consideration I imagine.

I consider the Serie D No.4 to be a Medium strength Cigar and would go for that if it offers the profile your after.

    Edit: Oh and welcome!

    Need some advice!

    Hi guys,

I am not an avid cigar smoking, only partaking on the odd occasion and so I know next to nothing about cigars.

I am buying a gift for someone who, like me, enjoys good whisky. I am specifically looking at purchasing the Dalmore cigar malt, which is a fantastic on it own however I thought to make it extra special I would buy a couple of cigars that pair well with it. The cigar that provides the flavour benchmark for pairing is the Partagas Serie D No .4, now I understand that for someone who doesn't smoke cigars regularly this will provided a bit of a challenging smoke as its rather strong. So my question is:

Would someone be able to recommend me a good cigar to pair with this whisky? Either from having tried the whisky and know what pairs well with it or being able to suggest a cigar with a similar but milder flavour to the Partagas.

    Thanks
Working...
