I need your expert advice

As I suspect you have guessed the Cohiba Els from 2014 are fake, the 2014 EL was a fat robusto style cigar. The other Cohiba are also fake, which mean all the other cigars in the box would arouse my suspicion.

That doesn't necessarily mean they'll be bad cigars but I personally wouldn't touch them

    Sorry

Barge pole, unless you are prepared as sheppsea said, to know your smoking fakes...

You should not be paying very much for them. In Cuba, that many fakes should cost no pre than ?30/?40 if they were real, you should be paying upwards of ?300/?400 but I am no expert...

Should it be a ?30 sale, I would perhaps risk it but unlikely!

+1 on the above... All the cohiba look moody... So the rest are suspect by association. avoid if you want genuine sticks... Pay little otherwise.

It raises alarm bells when you see the poor state of the foot of the cigar, quite ragged & not uniform at all..Avoid!

30 quid and use them as theatrical props if they don't smoke well.

Anyone crazy enough to buy them (& they don't even look good quality fakes), should freeze them for sure, likely to be full of wee beasties that could infect the rest of your stock.

The bands alone look as fake as hell...

Ben, from one newbie to another, as tempting as bundles like this may seem, if it's too good to be true then caveat emptor. Avoid!

The best way to start your collection (which you've mentioned in another thread) is to buy a bunch of singles from a legitimate trader (site sponsor cgars is a good starting place) see which ones you like and go from there. Unless you're willing and able to drop several grand in one go, there's no short-cut to this hobby. Time, patience and trying out different sticks is really the only way. Buying from cgars also means you've got the guarantee of quality - if a stick is plugged, they'll replace it!

Stick around on the site, read what people are smoking and dive in. Once you've got PM status you'll be able to buy and trade, join in with box splits and the COTM (I've only been involved in one so far, but it's a great way to try sticks that you might not usually buy or that might not even be on your radar).

And, finally, if you've not yet bought a humidor, don't bother with a 30ct, go straight for a 100ct+ because it's guaranteed you'll need it within a few months

Ben I have to agree with what Horsebox is saying I am a newbe to the cigar game and you don't want to buy crap from anybody, just buy what you can from a good shop and build yourself up that way.

Aw man, I'm glad you asked and got advice.... Because they are pretty shocking.

Even without the bands, those raggedy feet and the huge length difference. If you were thinking about spending ?200+ I would rather spend ?50 on a return flight to Geneva and spend the rest of your dosh in a B&M there.

Will be a good day out too.

I agree with Sean. About the only thing which isn't fake in that photo is the humi.
