Flavour wheel

I definately get some flavors that flick a recognition switch in my head that equates to things on the wheel. I do however think theres probably some peculiar psychosomatic thing happening.

Overall I think most people if they are honest just pick out nuances of flavour that the brain recognises which combine to form the like/don't like opinion if that makes sense.

I think there should be a separate portion for NCs!

I agree I'm not one to pick a cigar due to individual flavours that can be tasted I tend to pick a cigar based on the overall taste

I think if you enjoy a cigar, you ENJOY THE CIGAR no matter which cigar it is, its your personal taste and choice...(even if that is barnyard flavors)

Funnily enough I was watching a video on YouTube the other day about this, would you say that generally you are able to pick out the flavours in a cigar or is it just a case of I like/dislike this cigar?

Gone off vino was not on there... Guess you could customise the wheel in many ways!

I've got a pretty good palate, and nose on wine, average on smokes... I can pick our a lot of the top wheel, but cant always taste the full range! But my father stuck his nose in one of my humis the other day, where all the older sticks are, and just wandered off shaking his head muttering something about farmyards and dung.....
Despite him having a pretty advanced palate himself his irritating first response to any query on wine is that it tastes of ..... Grapes. Guess he's hit the time of life where roles are reversed and its time to wind me up!

I've definitely experienced 'farmyard' notes from a stick before - it's not quite 'Barnyard' and it's not quite 'Animal'...probably bit closer to 'Free Range Chicken'.
I've also had many, many varied tones of tobacco from a variety of sticks, but then I am a 'Supertaster', as it's known in the trade

It's all apparent now: I have been picking up distinct nuances of tobacco, according to the revised wheel. It's nice to be able to put a name to those more elusive flavours. Bonus. Thanks for the new version
