you do become paranoid about the humidity today when I came in from work mine was reading 62% and
trust me I was think something was wrong but after a hour or so it went back up to 65%
i have 69% bolvida pack so 65% seems good to me.i still am at the paranoid stage were I look at the humidity about 15 times a day I guess it's all in the fun off the cigar game.
The more times you open your humidor to check humidity the more humidity you let out.
I'm worried about the summer too. Is high temperature much of a danger over short periods? And are there any other options other than the wine coolers?
I've been thinking about this....I'm not sure how it would work.
So my idea was have a scub I think that's what the guys call it on here.
Firstly insulate it with the foil roofing insulation.
Then using a peilter and some electrical wiring to monitor the temperature of the inside of the box. When it's too hot it will start to cool...when its too cool it will heat up too help regulate the temperature to your desired needs.
That's the idea. Have no clue how to make the peilter system but will try something when I get some free time.
Keep them in a garage or outhouse. I imagine this is more of a problem in these super insulated modern houses where you walk around in shorts all year round
Not looking forward to keeping it cool...my house is like an oven I'm the summer lol

Start shopping now for a wine cooler, you'll need the space anyway
Need to plant the seed in the wifes head first...already hinted at the idea the Cigars could be worth a fortune if looked after properly in many years to come. [emoji15]
Just wait until the weather starts to improve...Temperature will affect humidity too!!
Time to grow your nails nice & long, so that you can chew them worrying about the fluctuations...
As long as you can keep the humidity within the 60's you'll be fine. I believe that some of the serious collectors will keep theirs in the high 50's for ageing purposes, I'm sure that i've read that the American smokers like to keep theirs in the high 60's / mid 70's!!

Before i joined the forum I thought Jesus I'm getting a bit sad and obsessive always checking the humidity..like anything is gonna change when I come home and by them time I've had dinner. Now I kinda feel normal [emoji2]
nubchugger. That's correct...I tried the trick on one of the small ones I had from a online order and worked a treat here the orginal post
