What would you expect when sampling a bad cigar?

Perhaps when we go to JJs we should announce ourselves in a loud clear voice

That is funny. For some reason I thought you looked familiar. Maybe I saw you on a picture on this forum once?
It did seem like you guys had a good conversation. I'll come over say Hi next time.

Anyway, back on topic! Not sure what I would have done at the time but suggestion to take it back before the halfway point is definitely what I'll do in future should I find myself with a dodgy cigar!

Niela I was on the sofa furthest from the window, talking to the grey-haired chap on the other sofa. Turns out he is James Leavey, 2015's Cigar writer of the year. A very interesting man.

The draw was OK, but more on the tighter side...
I'll definitely complain early on next time...

Sounds over humidified to me, most B&Ms store to wet for my taste. How was the draw? I would expect an exchange but only if I mentioned half way through. It's a bit like complaining at a restaurant if your plates empty your not going to get much of a response.

That really sucks! I've only had the same thing with a cigar that's over humidified before I switched to bovedas. I hear they have just refurbed their humidor so I wonder if any of the other sticks are having problems. Could they be close to the fan? I would expect the conditions to be top notch considering foxs long history though.
when i went to foxes they sprayed some solution in the bag with the cigar and the bag ha droplets of water in and the cigar had wet patches, I wonder if that might have been the culprit?

I'd of taken it back at the end of the first third, then you've given it the benefit of the doubt and time to develop and they have the goods in hand you are returning

I agree with John - should have brought it down half way
I also think you should have expected a refund, this was clearly unsmokeable and therefore not as described, which is clearly different to not enjoying a cigar

Bit like going for a meal realy you don't finish all your meal then complain.

Yeah, I thought about going down half way when there was no smoke coming. But then I lit it up again and it got smoke and I thought it'll be fine from now on, but then it just got worse and worse. But I kind of missed the time to go down and complain and with every puff it was one puff further too late.
Thanks for the offer ValeTudoGuy. I had one of these two years ago in Malta and found them OK. But not memorable. I'll try some other RPs rather.

Im not sure what I would expect either. I would probably have done the same as you..... But agree with what PJ said.
I actually quite like the 1990. I have some with a few years on if you want to try one? Drop me a PM if you do.
