What's wrong with Gurkha??

I was recently checking Cigar Afficionado scores on various sticks and Gurkhas don't look bad really.

Could anyone enlighten me then - why are these sticks mainly objects of pisstake, disliking etc?

I never had one as I find them way too expensive. For that money you can get some really nice CC or even a Behike. I think that's where the criticism comes from, value for money. Having said that, I find most CC way overpriced as well, which is why I smoke 2/3 NC and 1/3 CC. Exceptions make the rules of course and I might be wrong and Gurkhas might be the best things since bread comes sliced.

Also Tom bear in mind that Cigar Aficionado is a magazine which lives on its advertising and isn't going to diss Gurkhas

Comments I've read relate to the hyper-inflated RRPs. More often than not they're given huge discounts which reel the punters in though the sticks are probably worth no more than the actual discounted, sale price.
