What is the most expensive cigar you've ever smoked?

Idea for the thread sprung to my mind after reading one post in my other thread about BHK52.

So if you don't mind, please tell us - what is the most expensive cigar you smoked? And optional question - was it worth the price?

For me it was Siglo III. Didn't pay for them myself, but still ...

The question is a little subjective because older members have cigars that they bought at the then current prices but are now worth a lot more, the BHKs being a case in point.

I have smoked some cigars which were worth far more by the time I smoked them, especially those I have been gifted or swapped other sticks for. I think for this question to be meaningful it should read, what was the most expensive cigar you have bought & smoked?

As an example I bought & smoked 4 Cohiba DC's RE 2003. I paid ?25 each, which was cheap at the time but I still have one left & I noted recently a London dealer quoting over ?100 for a single stick.
Otherwise it's down to: Henry Clay Pre-Revolution Cremas & RA Ideals de Allones Pre-Revolution E35 each, the former wasn't great the latter was.

My biggest outlay was for 1970's Boli Corona Extra's @?28 each. Not alot I hear you say? Well it was when they come in a cab of 50!
Apart from the mentioned 3 Davidoffs (which I haven't smoked yet so can't be included) my other upper limit cigars would be Cuaba Diamedas, Monte A, Siglo VI & Esplendidos. I have never bought ?30+ LE or LE. My avge stick in the Boli Cave I conservatively estimate to be worth E10 so although it's nice to have a drawer or box of those extra special cigars, the ones we know & love can be had for a heck of alot less. I guess I should point out that the majority of my stock is from 2001 to 2010, so if your buying new sticks from the UK I guess your looking at ?15-18?

I think the most expensive stick I have ever smoked is probably a PL Magnificos, it was a gift so I don't know the price but I suspect in the region of ?60 (so my shock at the mention of a ?67 cigar in another thread may not have been justified, but I didn't buy it so slightly different). ?60 is miles beyond what I would ever pay for a cigar for myself, but I must admit it was an outstanding smoke (value for money is of course another question).

In terms of other smokes I have stretched to ?30 each for a box of Cohiba 1966, but generally ?25 is my upper limited and anything over ?20 really does have to be justified and a cigar I really want

I had a Magnificos when they cost ?25 Shepsea & it was certainly worth that but I wouldn't have paid ?60, still would have smoked it if gifted of course. I have been very lucky & been given many fine smokes that I would have paid current prices for but I have passed a few of mine on in return. It's one of the benefits of being in such a group, you'll get to try singles that you would never have bought a box of just to try one. And the box splits are a great way to try a few & get a better judgement before either buying a few more singles or a box.

Oh my goodness!

Some of you guys have paid a pretty peso for those special cigars. If I ever paid more than 620 pesos (25GBP) for a cigar, I'd expect it to do a lot more than "blow" smoke. .

Erm... you know, for those special ones that do many kinds of different things we usually pay much more... It's called "wife" and often has pure gold band too! Shame that getting one often means being tied up for the rest of your days but hey, it blows not only smoke :P.

Bhk 52 was my priciest ever at 32 quid. Shame that it didn't quite deliver, but I would consider another in the future.

The most expensive so far in my short journey is buying the Bhk 52 for ?25 but the most expensive I have smoked is the aged Trini Robusto T at ?20

Buy again: No. Ridiculously too big in all honesty.

So far I have smoked a bhk 54 and 56 so they are the most expensive at the moment. I would buy a box of either but not while at home.
I would certainly pick up a box on my travels if I find them at a decent price. I though they were both excellent smokes.
I also have a EL 1966 waiting for the right occasion. When I smoke it, it will then become my most expensive to date.

I have a 1966 that was for an anniversary from my Mrs, had a BHK 52 from Mo... Beyond that I have paid probably no more than ?18-20 and that's in a lounge so at the top end of pricing.
