  • A reasonable priced smoke?

We all love a poll on here and a recent thread about reasonable priced smokes inspired me to start this one. What do you consider a reasonable priced cigar. Sorry RB but prices in pounds sterling for the majority.

?14 is where I would expect something to be "good" moving towards "very good" - I guess below that and I'm expecting things to possibly go wrong...

However I have had plenty of good / nice smokes for under ?14 but the reality is, that seems to be the point where you can expect reasonable and beyond.

JLP Petit Cazadores are very reasonably priced. Personally I don't think one can find a stick with better price/quality ratio.

Other than that, I'd stick to about 15GPB mark, that can indeed buy some nice suff, Cuban and non Cuban alike.

Even after trying more expensive sticks the Cracker Crumbs remain my firm favourite - around ?2.25 a stick

If it's from outside the UK then ?6 is the going rate for a lot of excellent cigars, in my opinion.

15 pound I would expect to pay for a good cigar but cheaper for an every day cigar

I agree, sadly you're looking at about ?15 in the Uk, whereas in Europe that would buy you something towards the top end of the spectrum.

Location location location. I agree with Tom about JLPs being a good price/value ratio, but even they are really marked up by taxation and other things for the UK market. So, sit me in a bar in Paphos with whatever ten pounds gets me from the LCDH there and you'll find me smoking something probably more premium (though not necessarily "better").

Some of my fave recent smokes have been the Chinchalero Fuerte Maduro Picadillo (probably now unavailable according to cgars, figures) and the cgars own blend Brazil se?orita (ditto, double figures). Both cheap and cheerful by UK standards, but ideally I'd be wanting a Monte media corona or a HdM PR instead.

Even in the UK you can pick up a H Upmann HC or a Monte #5 for under a tenner and those are will really good smokes (albeit short ones )

I used to like the HUHC, but mainly due to price. Soon got fed up with them after sampling better higher end cigars, and then in reflection ?7-?8 or whatever they are now I felt wasn't worth it in long run

Moose, you can get Fuerte Maduro from mysmokinshop. I usually go for Novillo.
