My go-to reference in the smoking room is the "Guia Epicur del Habano"
published in Spain. ISBN 84-930387-0-9 if you are searching online.

The attached pictures are of the 4th edition in Spanish but it is available in English. I bought my copy in Madrid and both language versions were available a bit cheaper at the airport.

Earlier editions (especially the popular 2nd ed.) are often the "counter reference" in cigar stores in Cuba.

Lots of great "actual size" photos -yes, they do fit a Monte A in a 9 in. book!- with specs, tasting notes, descriptions of all the marcas and some great "cigar lore"

There is another reference, also popular in Cuba titled "The Complete Guide for Habanos Enthusiasts" (La Guia Completa Para los Amantes des Habanos) that's a 3-ring binder, black cover, lots of lore but light on specifics. I've got one in each language. I believe that Simon Chase wrote the small format cigar production guide that comes as an insert in each volume. It's also good to have.

I can't remember the English title of the "Guia Epicure" but it translates as "Epicure Guide" and is the size of a medium hardcover book.
        Published by "Select Publicaciones".
I bought the Spanish version because it was all heavy glossy paper while the same-size English copy weighed about 1/2 as much. If I ever see the next edition (I'll be looking next time through MAD) I'll buy one of each.

I ended up getting the same book that I tried to get before (the Bernard Le Roy one) on ebay for ?3.44 including postage. Very pleased with it as it's a good read and plenty of pictures. It wasn't what I was expecting at all and have been pleasantly surprised. It's the 1993 version but I don't think I've missed out on much considering what the book covers.
