While smoking the MC Robusto EL 2006 this morning in the garden, I came to the conclusion that this was the best cigar I have smoked this year.
I had the box maturing in the humi for 18 months and I think I am reaping the benefits of keeping them this length of time.
They are a superb tasting cigar with spiciness, cedar and nuts all seeming to blend effortlessly together.Fantastic draw and aroma when lit, and this is without doubt the best MC I have smoked. I can only hope the MC Sublimes will reflect some of the flavours exhibited here in a couple of years.
I have been lucky enough to try a variety of Cuban smokes this year, this is the best so far IMO.
I was wondering what the BOTL would rate as their best smoke of 2009 to date?

That is sooooo good to hear, senor
booze.
The only Monty EL 06 I've smoked was at a LCdH in Mexico in the fall of 2006. I thought it was a pretty fine smoke then, but the resident aficionado mentioned that these should age well and be excellent puros with a few years in the humi. So I bought a box on the spot, which has be resting untouched in my humi ever since. Still holding on, however....hard to pop the cherry on a full box of super fine puros.
Cohiba Sublime EL '04.
