I'm surprised that the Cohiba Gran Reserva hasn't had a mention; I know that a few of you have tried them.

My fingers are still crossed that my wife has got me one for Christmas!!!!

Gosh, for once I seem to have fallen in with the masses. A RyJ Duke just puts such a smile on my face. Bloody amazing for a green cigar. With a few years on it they could be earth shattering.

            Duke!

Surprised at the negativity regarding the R&J Duke

Wondering if I should buy them now or not.

Negativity? Maybe I did not make what I was trying to say clear. Just to clarify, I love them!

                Thread.

Kdot....."IMO the Duke is over rated and should not be smoked right away The RyJ Churchill is a better smoke. The Duke could do with a year on it before being considered great".

Kdots reference on this thread regarding the R&J Duke.

                  Ok, I'll be the first:

                  Cohiba Gran Reserva
Trinidad Robusto T a not too distant second.

I was just shaking things up Whisk. The Duke is a good cigar but not great...yet. After a year or two it should be amazing.

You should definately try it. I still think the classic RyJ churchill is a better smoke.

Something that might put you off the duke however is another member said it reminded him a lot of the short churchill. I know your not a fan of the short churchills.

Let me know when your in the country and ill send one your way so you judge for yourself.

bollocks, now I gotta put the Duke on my list of what to buy in 2010 ..

unfortunately I haven't been able to smoke as much as I would have liked, well, not as much as to nominate a cigar of the year .. but if I had to make a choice I'd nominate H. Upmann 48 LE (although I've smoked several Petit Edmundos that I enjoyed more ..)
You may think you can fly, but you better not try ..

Have to say I agree with you, kid. Having said that I've not had vast amounts(newbie, financial cramp, frowning lady etc)
