I started smoking cigars when I was 24, when a Cohiba Robusto was offered to me. Before that I had a backwood or backgammon once or twice!

Oldest cigar in my humi is a SLR Corona from the early 80's,oldest box is a box of Bolivar Coronas Gigantes from April '99, the month and year my step son was born.

Oldest cigar I have smoked was a La Corona Policromia from late 50's/early 60's from JJ Foxes(The one with the purple label).

I started at 19 years old. It was something with which to occupy the time whilst on night watches when training on Dartmoor.

18 when I was at university, although they weren't proper cigars!
Started again around 20/21 with a friend of mine and have smoked properly since then! That and have built up a nice collection of "smoking things", humidors & cigars!

I'm a late comer really, my brother always enjoyed cigars from a young age but I didn't start until about 5 years ago.

Was at a friends wedding in Munich and was offered a cigar by a big German bloke who turned up at the wedding in a kilt with the same tartan as me.

Haven't a clue what it was but thoroughly enjoyed it and haven't stopped since.

Wish I could tell you that I have cigars that have been ageing since then but I have no patience to keep them any length of time. Best I ever managed was a CAO Sopranos edition that I bought in Melbourne and kept for a couple of years.

I am still brand new to cigars. First cuban was 4 months ago at age 29. The oldest cigars in my humidor are the cuban crafter torpedos and robusto sized cogars that came free with the humidor itself. I'm not a big fan of them but can't seem to throw them away.

Wife and I always ended up smoking something terrible when out and having passed a certain alcohol amount (anything could get hands on) .

Then with a trip to Cuba booked, recently decided that, yes, rather do like them, time to get researching and serious. 31 for first Cuban, and only had 3 so far, but loved them!
