Caught Red Handed
Yup, you've nailed me then, Robusto.Originally posted by Robusto View PostI don't, but I do exhale gently a few times per cigar through the nose.
I think Rokk's the man for inhaling if I recall previous posts!
Okay, boys and girls, we all know that the cardinal rule of seegar smoking is YOU DO NOT INHALE THE SMOKE! This is a big cigar no-no. It just isn't done.
Now, having said that, whilst I do not advocate it, I must needs fess up to the fact that I fecking inhale EVERYTHING! I once smoked catnip, figuring it gets the cat off, why not me (note: it didn't; just gave me a headache).
So whereas normal stogie smokers get the full benefits of flavo(u)r from swishing the smoke around in their mouths (like the wine experience) before exhaling, to me it's all arse over teakettle. If I don't inhale, it tastes like burning leaves to me. It's only by inhaling that I can detect any nuances the stogie might hold other than a nicotine fix.
And, FWIW, I fecking swallow the wine, too -- better believe it!

Never smoked cigarettes so never been tempted to inhale, your taste buds are in your mouth not your lungs

Never.
Never inhaled on purpose. Done it a few times by mistake though. No good at all IMO.

I think if you've smoked cigarettes then you are more likely to inhale. I will sometimes let some of the smoke out then have a cheeky bit left to inhale. On the whole I enjoy it but would never inhale a whole mouthful.

Re: Inhaling or not?
I never inhale, just exhale through the nose and mouth on every exhale. Cigar smoke going in your lungs is a recipe fir disaster!

i find without fail that inhaling the smoke gives a taste similar to smoking cigarettes. you then know you're smoking tobacco and not heavenly tasting sticks rolled by the gods, i also find that it takes a couple more puffs to clear that taste out...
i am occassionaly inhaling now, especially with NCs as im not chasing after the taste in them but no doubt to me it does affect the taste and smell and negatively at that.
but for a good cuban i dont inhale.. however i exhale through the nose very very often. pretty much every puff and that definitely gives me a big nicotine kick as the blood vessels are so close to the surface in your nostrils. also exhale through the mouth whilst inhaling through the nose... nose is the key to cigars... and only enhances the taste!

I tend to suck down a little...not a full draw, but I do like a little once each cigar...
personally its part of the flavour...get the smoke right on those back taste buds

Inhaling or not?
There are numerous threads on this forum re etiquette etc, but I would be interested to hear views on inhaling, or not, when smoking cigars. Apart from the obvious health implications, how does it affect taste etc?
Do you inhale or not? Why?
Look forward to some of your views.
Personally, I sometimes inhale and sometimes don't. No rhyme or reason behind it, just depends on the cigar and or my mood.Tags: None
