I'm on the quest to find some really good value cigars so I thought I'd try and get some suggestions of you lot. Rules are that the Cigar has to be under ?5 as a single cigar, does not necessarily have to be cuban but certainly one you've tried yourself!
Hmmmm Let me think, under a fiver a stick is a pretty tall order, but! ive experienced;
La Invicta Corona (?4.90 at Rob and Jans, High St, Boston Lincs)
La Invicta Petite Corona (?4.50 same as above)
Dominican Selection Figuardo (?4.69 Cgars ltd)
Carlos Torano Petite Corona (?4.10 Cgars Ltd)
3 x 3 Tubed Corona (?4.99 Cgars Ltd)
Hmmm ive tried so many i cant remember all of them, but these are a good selection under a fiver..
Hummmmmmmmmmmmm
Diesel Shorty $5.20
Rocky Patel's
Man O' War Virtue $5.2 If you knock someone might answer !
Oh yes lets not forget the above smokes... and if you want to try such delights, you can send me or G-man a PM for info.. well recommended in my opinion
Can only comment on cuban cigars and these should be available from Cgars for a fiver or less.
Lots of Quinteros and JL Piedros.... but "life's to short to smoke sh!t cgars"
ERDM Demi Tasse, probably a lot less than ?5 and an OK small smoke
Upmann Corona Junior/Minor in tubes
Hoyo de Maire/Depute might be around a fiver
RyJ Petit Juliets???
Ok, obviously there are ways and means of attempting to get cheap cigars that I am not going to talk about. Then there is the legit stuff via duty free etc.
But for regular cheap UK smokes that are reasonably widely available and that are at the same time reasonable quality the choices are more limited.
Just over budget would be a Diplomaticos No.5 (?5.59 @ mysmokingshop), but it is a true Cuban hand-rolled. Cheaper machine made and short fill Cubans are of course an option. The Jose L Piedra 'Country Cigars' or Guantanamerras perhaps.
But if you want hand-rolleds for less than a fiver really you are looking at non-cubans. The short fat Chinchalera Maduro (4" x 66) is good value at ?3.89, while a longer Invicta (5 1/2" x 42) is ?4.59. A tubed La Rica Corona is ?4.90. These are all good value smokes, but don't expect them to be as good as a cuban (or NC come to that) that would be 2 or 3 times more expensive.
Finally, and for day to day short smokes, they may be short fill machine mades but I'm a big fan of the Panter Mignons (tin of 10 for ?8.79) that have a lot of (good) taste for the money...
