Indeed, I believe it was Bolivar last time but last time I voted for Boli every time & this time for ERDM - so it won even without my help! They are great & pretty consistent cigars but I wouldn't want to be limited to only Boli's.

I for one have been watching this thread with interest to see who comes on top. I have not had the opportunity to try Boli's yet but am keen to do so now.

Give the Coronas Junior a try, about £11 from cGars. 40ish minutes of smoke time and IMO it gives you a great example of the Boli profile.

Edit: Ordered one from cgars. Really looking forward to give it a try. I wonder if it will make me go green in the last 3rd Lol. I shall sip it with caution

Bolivar used to be strong but they have really been tamed down. I doubt that there are still any really strong CCs out there. I've had some older Bolis that gave me a hefty kick in the butt though.

I was always under the impression they were the strongest of the strong so your comment has put that thought to bed but do you know why CC's have toned down the strength?, Is it down to the blenders who are looking for a wider market? Blends have changed over the years and most cigars are lighter now than they were in the past but I'm no authority on that. Maybe someone like Simon Bolivar could shed some light on this.

I could be wrong but I think it has something to do with trying to appeal to a larger market, especially the Chinese.

I think it’s similar to cigars smoking well fresh in the recent couple of years whereas years gone by you would have needed to rest them for a lot longer. The average consumer wants something that’s good Today, there’s no patience for ageing.

This isn’t a blanket statement for all cigars and may not be true, just what I’ve read and seems to make sense.

Thank you Midas you seem to have a valid point there. Yet another market in the world the chinese have captured (and copied no doubt) It also makes sense with regards to the here and now consumer which appears to be the norm these days.
