  • Infusing to save a cigar I had to cut short - worked well

Two weeks ago I had to stop smoking a nice My Father Robusto premium cigar leaving about half unsmoked. So I thought I'd try infusing it with a nice Chocolate Liqueur, Bottega. I cut the foot and then placed it in tupperware with a small shot glass of the liqueur and left it for 2 weeks, and then I smoked it. And it actually was pretty good, I got a slight chocolate taste and a sweetness, more than the usually earthy and peppery profile. Any one else tried infusing?

I think this will work better for 1 month and on clean unsmoked cigars that are not premium, but this is a good way to save a good cigar you don't want to throw away and helps get rid of the ashy bitterness than often comes with a re-smoke.

I don't know anyone who re-smokes a cigar although I once saw an old American guy smoke half then clip off the lit end and put the rest in his pocket.

I'm not sure that's gona work well to be honest...the smoke fumes would have travelled up the cigar and will leave a bitter smoke at a later date.

I have tried infusing yes...works after a fashion IIRC but I did write about it on this forum. Bottom line, if you like it, that's good.
I have also tried saving and re-smoking old stogies yes...yugh!!! I have found that it never works. Better by far to throughly enjoy what you can and accept that it just cost you twice as much.

        Just my pennyworth.
