What are your thoughts on the villiger cigars anyone tried them ? Pressed or round
only got a wedding to go to dnot fancy smoking some Cubans in the day weather wise and time available so thinking of villiger cigars as a quick smoke

The last I tried a Villiger was many many years ago and it was not to my taste personally.

If you pressed for time why not a Monte 5 or a Trinidad Reyes?

I have tried the pressed Villiger and they cannot be compared with the Cuban cigars.

I only see the cheap ones for sale here, but their premium cigars have featured in a few top 25s of the year.

        I'd go for Conquistador.

I had a Villiger Export pressed cigar last night and actually rather enjoyed it. It might have been because it was from 2004, but it reminded me of a library in a stately home and made the room smell of sweet pipe tobacco.

Had this last year, the Flor De Ynclan "Lancero" which is actually a lonsdale. I've not got the best memory but I don't remember enjoying it very much, think I was pretty dissapointed.

This one in Robusto scored 93 with CA and was in the top 25.

I do pay some attention to CA but I've smoked a good few Top 25 sticks that I thought were crap, I don't think CA's Palates and mine are aligned at all.

Same here when they are too earthy, but my best smokes of the last two months were a Joya Numero Uno and a Casa Turrent, much lighter and sweeter, so their 2020 list is so far looking good to me, altho a recent nice Boli Beli had a few draw issues but that's a CC issue as we know. Curious to try their no 1 EPC in a couple of weeks as well as a rated RP and a Camacho, hoping they are not too earthy and dark.

I think thats it, the proper earthy cigars are definitely not to my taste. The CLE Prieto comes to mind, Classed as Medium to full, 92 rated, but was like chewing on mud. I ditched that after about 5 mins. I've never done that to a cigar before, always tend to see it through unless it has proper burn or construction issues that can't be resolved.
