I just checked. I have 1 digital hygrometer thats +5% so it reads 5% more than it should at 70% RH at around 18 degrees C.
    .--
I think I may finally have this CAD under control...

I would agree that 72 is probably too high for Tupperware. Definitely do a salt test on your hygrometer, iv never had one that's been bang on.

Has it just been one that's cracked when smoking or have you smoked a few that have? it could just be an anomaly

Been a few now. They have started to crack as I’m smoking them.

That looks too wet to me - have you tried dry boxing for a few days before you smoke them?

I haven’t. I definitely think it’s too dry though. Not too wet.

Stick your digital hygrometer and a boveda in a small ziploc bag for 12 hours and see what the reading is. Note any difference and then calculate what your actual rh is. Unless your bovedas are crispy rather that squishy I'd say your cigars are too wet.

I agree. The end looks swollen which indicates excess moisture.
Sometimes you have to ignore the hygrometer and give the cigars a squeeze and a poke

When I’m squeezing them I do hear them cracking though?

Think this is just the current weather. I've just pulled out a fuente hemingway that was kept at 69%rh, had it outside for 15 mins where its currently 41%rh. Was cracked all over when I picked it up to smoke it. Wrapper is dry and brittle.
