    ShaazK this example wasnt so simple. The box code checks out as the correct type, the UV is there. Devil is in the detail.

    The serial number sequence for the box year was out. The UV had a tiny detail in it that was wrong.

    It's no longer the presence of marks. It's way harder to spot nowadays with these.

      Geeez… this is troubling indeed. Gonna double check my newer boxes now

      Edit: Thankfully all clear even though they’re not from the un-Fortuna-te vendor so wasn’t overly worried.

          Indeedy, if it looks too good to be true, it probably is. Don't forget there were loads of fake Talisman's going around after release, they could surface on the 2nd hand/auction market. And that goes for Behikes too.

            All the more reason to buy from trusted vendors that you really know have a long-standing reputation for checking their incoming stock very well

              The more ??? there are the more 'grey' the risks!

              HSA -> regional distributor -> retail -> you (only safe bet!)

              HSA -> regional distributor -> retail -> ? -> you
              HSA -> regional distributor -> retail -> ? -> ? -> you
              HSA -> regional distributor -> retail -> ? -> ? -> ? -> you

              ? could be second hand market, grey imports market, UKCF, friends

                As ha_banos stated, it was all over reddit then has seemingly become huge. Bondroberts just took anything affected off the site (including some Montecristo Supremos I was trying to sell!). Pretty major now.

                    It’s a real shame but it’s the way of the world. Where there is money to be made, some people will cross the line to benefit from it. Counterfeit anything is a problem, to the extent that organised crime gets involved and it becomes very sophisticated.

                    I echo what others say on here, too good to be true….probably is…

                      It will be interesting to see who else was effected with the stock as from Reddit it seems the supplier was supplying other stores. Makes it so hard now to confidently buy online.

                        Just bought a new cheap 365nm UV torch. Old one was 395nm. New one good. Old one crap. Get 365nm.

                        Guess which photo is with new torch...

                          I take it the crest is on all boxes but from what year though?

                            The crest is on all modern seals. I appeared 1999 https://www.cubancigarwebsite.com/pa...Warranty_Seals on all boxes across brands.

                            The fake seal looks like this with a gap in the leaves circled red. Its a gap for a number not in the real seal. See image from first post.

                                The key thing is it needs to be 365nm UV.
