  • Beginner Cigars under £10

    Hi,

I know this may be a challenge, but I am looking for some recommendations for a suitable cigar for a beginner smoker, and it is under £10

This is the only Cuban I could find under 10 quid. You might need to up your budget a wee bit amigo.

I don't know much about New World cigars but there will be some under 10 quid

      Smoke less but smoke better.

It's better to have 2x£20 cigars than 4x£10 cigars to be honest

Thanks Stevieboy, I'm just trying to get an order over the amount for free delivery. As this will be my first step into cigars, I don't want to spend too much.

If you buy cheap cigars for your first cigars, you might be put off completely....some might say that's a good idea lol. It might be better spending 20/25 quid and getting a decent cigar and then make up your mind from there.

It's a shame you're getting into cigars at this time as everything has nearly doubled (or tripled) in price since around 2021. You used to be able to buy very decent cigars in the UK for around the £12-15 mark. Now you'll pay £25 to 30 for the same cigar.

If you're going to Spain/Switzerland/Germany anytime soon, you'll be able to pick up something at a very decent price compared to the UK

Sadly trying to budget £10 or lower at UK prices IS challenging. If there is anything available then you're also looking at the smaller vitolas (not necessarily a bad thing), so just trying to manage expectations.

I have imported from across the pond (& thankfully avoided charges (knock on wood)) or bought abroad and there's plenty of great cigars attainable.

For UK vendors a Jose L Piedra Brevas seems to fairly well regarded for a cuban

I almost ended up down this path, apart from having some previous experience from a decade ago I don't think I'd have stuck with it.

Always a challenge to look for a good 'value for money' (which doesn't mean cheap OR expensive)

Thank you all for your input. I know it would be a challenge with the current climate. I plan to get a
Perdomo - Reserve 10th Anniversary Connecticut - Robusto and
H Upmann - Half Corona with a cutter and lighter. I would like to get the order over £50 for free delivery. I thought it would be nice to add a third, if possible.

I would suggest RG Panatela Extra, which must be under £10, problem is finding some in the UK.
Simon Bolivar: Liberator of Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru & Venezuela.

They're no longer part of the UK portfolio. (Might never have been as not every importer holds every single cigar in the Cuban portfolio)

I see them all the time in Spain though. In Madrid in May they were wallet-friendly: €2,30 a stick

Simon's bang on through: excellent wee cigars particularly with a coffee on a sunny morning. Can't beat them

I’d also recommend that you smoke better quality but less frequently & recommended Davidoff - Winston Churchill Traveller Belicoso, tin of 4 around £50 in UK
