Ah thanks, that would make more sense.

No chance. Somebody from Hong Kong (I think) was buying all of the intact boxes of Dunhill Seleccion everything. they went so high because there were two Hong Kong guys bidding each other up.

Congrats to the seller of the lot who was thrilled that he broke the record.

Giuseppe got some very nice Davidoffs though and a few other gems.

eg. Lot 153 - Cohiba Siglo VI Gran Reserva ?450
Lot 268 - Cohiba Siglo VI Gran Reserva ?1400

Would the disparity be the result of bidders pre auction inspection and quality assessment or does it actually demonstrate that in amongst all those premium prices being paid the occasional bargain lot falls through the cracks?

Monkey66 your math is wrong- buyers premium is 12.5% plus VAT on premium ( not hammer price)

NicWing- correct- new single stick auction record price achieved

Big T - we smoked Por Larranaga Regalias de Londres,Punch Seie D'Oro no.1 and El Rey Choix de L'Epoque

    Best

    Mitchell

Just been through the prices, stuff went very high on the whole. Remember with the sales commission and VAT you have to add 30% to all the prices. Cant comment on the serious vintage prices as out of my league/expertise.

Not sure I would have bought anything as most of the stuff I had earmarked went high.
