  • Aging environment - 60F and 60% Humidity or 70F and 70% humidity

Being a slow (very slow) cigar smoker, where I only have about a stick per week has its advantage... Aging is not a difficult task to me as it takes forever for me to finish a case anyway...

After watching the latest Cigar Aficionado on aging cigars... it got me quite worried that Gordon Mott talked about the aging of 5, 10 or 15 years cigars should be at low 60s' for both humidity and F temperature... that kind of worries me...

Right now I am running on the 70-70 rules...

I know it is a matter of tastes, as always... any suggestions?

Low 60's-70 and all Will be well...don't fret too much... but you really should try smoking more!

My only other advice to you is never worry too much about what Gordon Mott says. Cheers.

I know one London Cigar Merchant who stores his 'Long Term' cigars at quite a cool temperature. I am not sure how cool, I will check and get back atcha!

More towards 60 that 70 is defiantly preferable for long term ageing (5 years plus). I keep my boxes bagged now. One of the big advantages is it dampens the inevitable humidity swings in my big tupper boxes.

Either way short of a great cellar/wine cooler or air conditioned room there will always be some temp/humidity fluctuation.

Don't worry too much ....if they smoke good they are good

Why don't you go over to 'newbie greets' and introduce yourself.
