Nice Little Surprise... What Should I Spend it On?
Hmmm, nice thinking Gary. The cheque would just about stretch to something pretty decent, and I've always liked the idea of buying en-primeur... but it's something I'd probably only do if the cheque was a bit bigger (and allowed for a couple of other purchases too). I like wine, but don't drink it too often, so tend to just pick up a couple of bottles from BBR when I'm in London - it usually sees me through to my next trip.
Puff - great minds think alike! I'd love one of them, but it wouldn't really fit the bill of what I need for my whisky at the moment. I can continue dreaming about my globe cabinet for the future...
Sy - that could fit the bill, certainly something I shall consider.
Yeah if it stretches, I don't know how much the rebate is worth and I'm obviously not going to ask, but in a month or two I intend to treat myself to a case of Chateau D'Issan 2010, which after the VAT and duty bill comes in next year will have cost me something over ?600. As I said if it was me that's what it would go on.
Or what about some nice 2010 Bordeaux, if of course your a wine lover and your rebate stretches that far obviously, that's what I'd spend it on anyway.
Nice Little Surprise... What Should I Spend it On?
What a nice way to arrive back at my parents' after a trip back down to Plymouth to get away from things a bit (and to grab a few sticks from my humi)... I checked my mail and there was a lovely little letter from those nice chaps at HMRC, for a change it was a pleasant surprise as it contained a rebate that I'd been rather hoping for...
The question is, however: aside from the box split on the Short Robustos, what else should I look at picking up with my little bonus? You see, I'm an altruistic person, and I feel that in these times of great need I should do my part and give most of my rebate straight back to the government...
