Stocko gojira I'll try to explain, but stand ready to be corrected - Each player buys a competing team for 2 sticks - teams are drawn at random and depending on number of players it's possible to buy more than one team, so 2 teams = 4 cigar buy in, 3 teams = 6 cigar buy in etc...I think prizes were awarded to the overall winner and the runner up, and maybe 3rd place runner up?. Once the tournament is over, each participant then sends their cigars to the winners as directed by the organiser.

I've searched for the Euro 2016 thread but can't find it. Did manage to find the World Cup 2014 thread: https://www.ukcigarforums.com/showth...Cup-Sweepstake

And when the team withdraws as a political protest?

Sounds difficult to police who sent what. Surely the best way is to send the two sticks to the organiser at the start and then they ship the whole lot to the winners. You ensure everyone has paid up before it starts that way.

Double postage that way. And it worked fine for the Euro's! There's always an element of trust involved in these things, and I'm not sure how welcome someone would be in the future if they shafted the winner out of a couple of cigars, not that anyone would do that

This sounds very interesting. I'm in. But I probably will get a team that won't go far.

Such as the UK or France...

And thank you for explaining this Marc!

Pfft what do you know! UK isn't even a team. All the Welsh, Scottish, Irish are now offended. As are the French. No wonder we want out! Bloody Germans

Oh, they won't win this time around. But I would very much like it if they did.

That's why we want Britain to stay, who else would guarantee us to advance I in the play offs?

When I organised the 2014 World Cup one most people sent the cigars to me and then I sent them to Simon, but that was more because he was away IIRC

To be honest tracking who has sent the cigars is just as difficult either way - one person still needs to establish who has sent what; the only real advantage of sending them to the organiser is that it might be easier for him to chase anyone lagging behind as it is on behalf of someone else (unless they win of course!).

Also, if someone doesn't send something, is it really the end of the world? Its frustrating and unfair, but nothing more that that in reality. Certainly not a reason not to run a sweepstake

                            I'm in by the way
