Good review, a cigar I have not tried but I will buy one and have a go, not sure if I would buy a box as there are plenty of other cigars I would have first, like another box of the Bolivar Britanicas.

I'm in the same boat, tried a few singles and really enjoyed them all. Have 2 boxes sleeping as I felt they have real potential. Decided that it would be spring of 2013 before I try another...

I just bought the one box, smoked a handful so far, all awesome except one plugged beyond belief, some inconsistency for me but worth it for the % risk so far

            Hi Manning
I also bought a couple of boxes and noticed that they are a little spungy and soft, the draw is too easy. I bought mine from xxxxxxx just out of interest where did you buy yours from and can you remember what month of 2011 they are, it should say on the bottom of the box.

most of the reviews online say they are too tight or the cigar is too hard which is strange.

            Size:

            5 3/5" long x 44 ring gauge.

            Appearance: 10/10

Double banded, maduro wrapper. A beautiful looking cigar.

            Construction: 9.0/10

The cigars appearance was faultless. On closer inspection there was slightly too much "give" when pinching the cigar, furthermore the draw was a bit too much of a wind tunnel for my linking. Something not always associated with your typical Cuban. This led to me smoking the cigar faster than I would normally, yet I encountered no harshness

            Flavour: 9.0/10

Pre draw - barnyard, with a leaf mould/compost note. The aroma was of nutmeg/cinnamon.

1/3 - On lighting the cigar I got cut grass/hay, this quickly evolved into sweet nutmeg and a hint of floral soapiness which I associated with cardamom, this lasted right up till the first third.

2/3 - At this point I got tea cake flavours, with a very long finish an almost tingling sensation occurred on the pallet.

3/3 - Dark tannins and espresso notes until the end.

            Value: 9/10

At ?13.50 for a Cuban EL this is good value for money, especially with the different flavour profiles that emerged. Even with my limited exposure to cigars I felt that this is a cigar that would be worth ageing. Especially after experiencing the long finish on the 2/3.

            Overall: 9/10

This is the best cigar i have smoked, (doesn’t count for much lol ). If I had the money right now I would buy a box and I think I would enjoy aging and smoking them!

I did wonder that, I didnt think anyone would reply to be honest but i thought I would try anyway. Im not sure why you cant talk about off shore sources when we all know who they are and its not secret. but if thats the forum rules thats fine Ill go along with it.

I had a smoke of the now 4 year old Ramon extra el 2011 and they were very smooth but like Manning says a little lacking of filler and a little soft before lighting them. I have seen a few people say the same but most of the other say they are really firm and can be hard to smoke.
I bought a couple from La Casa Del Habanos in London and they were a little more firmer and had more filler than the box i purchased.

maybe due to lack of quality control, Im sure they are not fake. anyone who has smoked these know they give a very white smoke which I have not seen on other cigars
                    thanks for replying guys

Had one of these today actually.

A little soft maybe, draw was light but I've had lighter.

I can sort of agree with the favour profile but it was very heavy from the word go, not an easy going smoke at all.

My mood could have contributed to it though I was expecting and fancying lighter

I like the cigar but i was expecting more of a wow factor, for example when I tried the Cohiba robustos supremos el 2014 that for me was amazing, loads of coco flavour and just smooth on the pallet. Im thinking on putting away a couple of hoyo demo drand epicure, such as lovely dark oscuro wrapper and i think this is a medium cigar, anyone had any experience with the supremos or the hoyo demo grand epic?
