Nice review Ed, smoked a few & to me there ok. I do think the No2 is much better & Monk's I am surprised you don't like them. What about the 898 & the Shorts? If you don't like them, then I guess your not a Party fan.

Had my first D4 tonight and although I enjoyed it I felt dizzy for half an hour afterwards.

May have to leave it a while before trying another one.

I've got one of these sitting in my humidor with a couple of years of age on it. This post has egged me on to smoke it.

I've only tried about three D4's to date, and the experiences have not been good. Three on three different occasions. One was blocked. Another gave me a rough throat. And the third again didn't agree with me… Shame. They sound great though from those who enjoy them.

I've had a couple and not enjoyed them. Strange as they seem mostly well rated.

I wonder age has something to do with it? Did they have a few years on them?

Great review! A pleasure to read.

bought a box of D4 and a box of P2 with a partagas branded humi years ago... my first 'box' purchase years back. I think they are different smokes and not really worth comparing. I have more of the p2 left than the d4. And I hate saying this as the d4 was my go to smoke for years, but I found the p2 to be smoother and more refined smoke. the d4 was always great, but left my taste buds a bit burnt. both much better with age... 5-10 years. An accidental discovery by stopping smoking for a while!

I smoked a D4 with a couple of years on it last week and loved it. I'd had one a few weeks earlier, when on holiday, it was my first D4 and I didn't think it was 'all that' but it was from a pretty new box. Glad I gave this one a go so soon after it, because I'd read this review. I've got a box on order
