Lovely lovely collection there!! Sounds like a blissful afternoon! Of course "sunny" blighty isn't always the best place for stuff like that haha

Great review, I'm glad the initial smell has no bearing on the smoking experience though.
I really should try these acid cigars, they sound worlds apart from infused cigars I have tried. Though it always worries me when a company won't admit to where their ingredients come from.

I'm only jealous of the Vette because old cars don't do it for me but I can't help wondering how many times you've dropped ash in your lap whilst driving. Yes I have separated my infused cigars too.

You're very welcome, glad you are enjoying them. If you are coming to the dinner I'll see what other infused ones I have for you.

PeeJay, very nice review. I smoked Kuba Kuba's for years after smoking La Gloria Cubanas (NC versions) for years before that. I can't tell you all the crap I took from people for smoking those but back then I only smoked a cigar as a nice dessert, so to speak and loved that it lasted easily an hour.

I actually smoked one last Monday when I took a nice top down ride. My wife loves the Blondie, the smaller one, hasn't tried the newer large one. Anyway, glad to see someone tell it like it is for this tasty cigar. Oh, and you need to warn those here that you do need a humidor for these cigars all to themselves if you don't want your other cigars to take on the potpourri smell.

I think I will try to sample a few more of the Acid range, they are really distinctive.

The nasty was similar in that it had a strong incense smell but that didn't come through in the taste.

Nice review chap. This does sound rather interesting. Gotta love all the subtle flavours you can get from cigars

    Acid Kuba Kuba

This is another of the infused range from Drew Estate and the colour of the band indicates each cigar's strength. The Kuba Kuba is blue so its mild-medium. This stick comes in at 5" x54 and has a wrapper that appears to be Colorado Maduro in colour and John Drew doesn't reveal where his components come from. What you do get though is a very well made cigar from the best ingredients with a little something extra added. This stick was springy to the touch and the wrapper had a slightly oily appearance with visible but well suppressed veins. I took it out of the cellophane and oh my god, it smelt like potpourri! Do people really smoke these? It had a double cap and when I punched it, it cut cleanly but the cap stayed inside so I had to fish it out. The cold draw fortunately did not taste of potpourri but was slightly earthy and I'm pleased so say that the scented flavour never showed its head again.
Once lit I got a small hit of artificial sweetness from the cap which didn't last long, certainly not as sweet as a Copper Label. The initial flavour once it had settled down had definite hints of chocolate and after about 1/2" a floral note started to develop, much like those artisan chocolates you can buy. The smoke was very mild and very smooth and there was plenty of it. The draw was perfect as was the burn. As I previously said, love em or hate em but Acids are well made sticks.
In the second third a hint of pepper developed on the back of the palate but it was never overpowering and into the final leg and the taste became leathery.
This cigar lasted me an hour and a quarter and I smoked it as far as I could before it became a little too warm for me. Overall a very nice experience but I still prefer the Acid One.
Finally a big thank you to Trickle who gifted me this in an exchange and lured me into the world of infused cigars.
