Had my first 8-5-8 with John this afternoon....started off very average....second third picked up and got some nice flavours....then it tailed off.
All in all I quite enjoyed it like you did Sean.

As i said to john mark am still learning on how to pick up on flavours so if the smoke is smooth and creamy thats what does it for me

Oh yeah most definitely go for smooth and creamy first as long as the flavours aren't unpleasant I'm happy. Anything else is a bonus, how uncouth of me

I think I've gotten a lot better at working out flavours. I've noticed some of them are very subtle and only seem to be tasted on a specific area of the tongue so they can be difficult to pick out

I find once you starts to get flavours it's much easier to notice them again.
