    Hi guys,

    I have been heavily preoccupied with work the past fortnight and have had barely any time to smoke my puros! But for the few ones I did get in (Principe & Secretos) I have managed to scribble down a couple a5 pages of tasting notes from the 1/3 down to the finish. I thought you'd be interested to have a little read, pictures included , if you enjoyed this I'd be happy to do the same with others in the humi.

    Pre-light draw; woody, trademark cuban tobacco, distinctive slightly sweet musk which I have only smelled on the SCDLH brand; I paired this with some ice water.

    1/3 - I got a wave of spice during first 5-10 mins which evolves into coffee and cedar notes, at this stage the smoke became noticeably lighter and more refined; somewhat creamy. Leather flavour kicks in with some more spice hitting the back of the palate, towards the end of this third I notice a sweet cream sensation which I got from the first one I smoked of these.. beautiful so far!

    2/3 - Coffee and black pepper spice becomes prominent with wafts of leather hitting me, the cigar isn't harsh in any way though. Grassy/hay notes somewhat similar to that of a Cohiba creep in along with floral/woody notes, I noticed the spice disappeared towards the halfway mark.

    3/3 - Here the cigar became mellow with a light spice on the tongue and a taste of bitter coffee, soon after waves of spice come back in at the back of my palate while leather and woody notes are also returning (keeps you on your toes!). This third displays a great array of SCDLH flavours, dry hay and cuban tobacco show through with the floral notes I got at the start creeping back in along with a white pepper around my lips; this puro lets you know it has a kick I suppose the best things do come in small packages

    Final notes - Finishing with a floral cream and grassy/hay flavours, the spice pops in and out but you can definitely tell when it comes through. Towards the end I noticed strong leather and spice again, the lining of my mouth was coated with a wonderful creamy texture! What an amazing cigar, it definitely made up for the last which was plugged and somewhat ruined my morning.

    Scores (CA style);

    Appearance/structure - 10/15 (although this stick was great with a packed foot and even construction, they aren't all the same and unfortunately I lit up a plugged one the other week).
    Smoking characteristics - 23/25 (this one burnt razor sharp with no touch-ups, didn't get too hot even though this has a small ring gauge).
    Flavour - 23/25 (impressive array of flavours and a great evolution throughout the stick, even though these are young and could do with a year or two age they are still good fresh from the box).
    Overall impression - 33/35 (there aren't many bad things I can say about this cigar, infact at least 10 will be sitting in my humidor for months to come because for me these are a great go-to anytime of the day puro; however production isn't as consistent as I would wish for a product at this tier).

    TOTAL : 89/90

      ice water is a fantastic pairing when/if you get some nice water and cubes.

      seemed like this one was a tad stronger than most. might've benefited with a flavoured drink, though. try your next one with a sprite, white rum, or light coffee (cappuccino) and see how you may enjoy it more/less
