Newbie's take RyJ short Churchill

Nice review mate, I think comparing two similar sized cigars is a good idea for a review.

I like the short Churchill and think it is a good everyday Cuban, It's not the most complex cigar but I do enjoy smoking them, like you say they are creamy and mild in strength. If you want a recommendation go for a Hoyo De Monterrey Epicure No.2 for your next smoke then I would smoke a Bolivar Royal Corona.

As for the AFSS, IMHO it is one of the best NC's around and is a good short smoke, see my review of them. If you guys want more then the Work of Art both natural and maduro is a superb smoke.

Anyway nice work, keep them coming!

Ya' know, muchacho...there are other sticks in the AF Hemingway line. Allow me to suggest the Signature, which is a toro, unlike the Short Story, which is more of a short perfecto, hence the name "short story."

Good effort Jim. I'm still pretty new to this myself and don't think I will feel confident about doing a review of anything for a long while. I'm slowly beginning to work out what I like, but my taste buds have probably been dulled over the years, so I can't describe why I like something - I just have a mental wish list and move things around on it when I smoke something which is better/worse. I'm guessing that when people talk about chocolate or coffee flavours, they're not talking Cadbury's Dairy Milk or a Nescafe with milk and 2 sugars!

I've mostly smoked CCs to date, just a few NCs, but the Black Market Robusto I had on Saturday was one of the best cigars I've had so far (despite issues at the start).

Completely agree at the moment it's mainly do I like it or don't I and would I buy again. Try to identify different tastes if I can but if I can't oh well lol I'm still having a good time
