  • Hoyo de Monterrey - 1st Cigar Review.

    Good Morning Ladies & Gentlemen.

Today was a day fi days, so I thought I would try a cigar that has been sat in my humidor for some time. The cigar in question is a Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure No,2. I have read on many occasions on the forum that this cigar is genuinely liked. This is my first cigar from the Monterrey's various Vitolas. As this is my first review, opinions, advice, guidance and constructivism criticism are most welcome!

    Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure No.2

So many people have the Epicure No.2 in such high regards. I had never smoked a Hoyo de Monterrey until this evening and it was the Epicure No.2 that was lighted. Oh my, the aroma, the taste, the amount of smoke produced was sublime. The wrapper was flawless, construction was excellent and followed with an even burn, what more can someone ask for...?! Oh wait, I forgot to mention the last third. As I slowly enjoyed my smoke thinking of the good and challenging times ahead, that creamy flavour intensified to take it from a light to borderline medium and the flavours and taste intensified. The sensation of it rolling around your mouth letting your taste buds get the full array if flavours and having a few retro-hales...This cigar is exquisite. Now I know why it is held in such high regards.

    Cheers,

Something weird has happened to the format in your post and I can only read the left hand side of it on my iPad.

There's a horizontal scroll bar underneath the box containing the Review Marc.
If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!

Great review, welcome to the Hoyo fan club! Assuming yours was relatively young cigar, you should look fwd to trying some with a few yrs on them. Look out for a review on some aged ones from Trickle, once he finally receives them from me. Lets see some more reviews form you in the near future Ross

Thank you kindly all for the positive feedback. I will make sure that it is not in a weird format next time so it can be read easily! My apologies for this.

As my pallet continues to become more educated, it will certainly help with writing a review on cigars.

                Cheers,
