Hmnn, whatever possessed you to buy, let alone smoke one of these abominations.
You've been skimping on your revision haven't you?
(Write out 100 times "I must spend more time researching my cigars")

Also, I think I need a better understanding of your scoring system - surely, no matter how cheap they are, if they taste like sh*t they're poor value.
Where does the 1337 come from?

yes, my friend, the guantanamero is VERY reviled around these parts!!! definitely a very low (lower than a snake's ball sack) point in habanos' otherwise stellar output.......

cheap and nasty springs to mind!!!!

the (soon to be ex) missus of mine bought me one at a wedding we attended last year, at one of northern irelands more respectable classy hotels (you'd thought they'd have known better)!!! thankfully it got lost and i never got to experience the damn thing.......

stick to the tried and tested and you'll not go wrong!!! even the cheaper examples of habanos SA's more famous brands, though more expensive than the unmentionable above, are better smokes.....

      all the best,

      alex

yes bgwan, what's with that scoring system of yours? please explain!!! lol!!! most here keep it simple, ie:
        *good, bad, ugly
        *out of 10
        *cigar aficionado's 100 score system
        appearance out of 15
        smoking characteristics out of 25
        flavour out of 25
        overall impression out of 35
        total out of 100

the last one works for most, for more comprehensive reviews!!! out of 10, or good/bad/ugly keeps it simple...... however, your review was quick and to the point!!!!

Man, still tastes like some sailor has dropped his balls in my mouth

Why did I succumb to this? Naivety..... i bought a mix of sticks a month ago and this was truly at the bottom....why, f&%k knows! Didn't do my homework!

BVI = (girth x length) / price....... no indication of quality, marks etc just baccy for buck as the yanks would say

A truly horrific brand, which should be extinguished from memory faster than seeing a dog at it with a cat...

They ain't called Guantanamos for nothing...

That brand is the reason Cubans are thankful they are not allowed to smoke Habanos! If there is a Cuban cigar that could turn anyone to NC's that is it. Maybe Lee started on them? Just a theory. LMAO
What would I know? I'm just a backwoods roo packin crim from New Holland! LOL. (Thankyou El Cat)

If you fancy a Cuban blast, they're better than a kick in the fudd....they're ok but don't expect much......

When I got a box from a friend some years ago, I accepted with gusto. It's the thought that counts. Unfortunately, I couldn't even GIVE them away!

Glad for the heads-up on this! We all make mistakes - or should I say, we all have to make mistakes to improve our choices.

At Izmir (Adnan Menderes) Airport in Turkey the Duty Free has a largish walk-in humidor. On the shelves was a limited but reasonable selection of 'good' Cuban and 'good' NC cigars.

It was 2 to 3 in the morning when I was there. The Duty Free has about 12 checkouts, but at that time only one was manned and no one was in attendance at the humi. But, you can press a button, the double doors open and you can go in.

On the floor of the humi were dozens of large, open or yet un-opened cardboard boxes with Guantenamera and Quintero labels attached. Obviously whoever was meant to be working there had 'knocked-off' or gone to coffee break or something. Notwithstanding there were also loads of boxes and small packs of the things on the shelves, it isn't hard to conclude that a hell of a lot of shite cigars are bought up by innocent friends and relatives in the belief they're bringing us home a cigar bargain. That, or there are more people than let on with a genuine taste for cheapo Guantenamera.

I see no excuse for Bwgan anymore though!
If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!

Excuses - well, I just went to the cgarltd website to see if I had an excuse as they have reviews at the bottom, maybe thats what swayed me. Well, to be fair its probably 50/50, but when someone says they threw it away, I should have know better! Thats exactly what i did, throw it after less than 1/4!
Should have paid less then ?2 more and got a Monte 5!

I shall now go and whip myself for my heinous mistake
