Appearance: Initially I was a little put-off by the slightly knobbly, veiny, cafe-latte coloured wrapper. The cigar was also slighty flattened, but more in-the-box flattened than box-pressed.
Construction: Almost flawless. Excellent draw. Very easy with just a little resistance to make the smoke worthwhile and that more enjoyable and for a 42 gauge producing huge amounts of moreish, creamy smoke. The ash was very compact, straight aligned and needed only three tap-off start to finish with no re-lights or corrections required.
Flavour: Initially concerned with appearance, I needn?t have worried, this little Mareva is a true Cuban. Right from the off, the smoke was delicious, Cuban ?twang? loaded, and decadent. First draw opens on dull citrus then swiftly going into stronger wood/spicier flavours reminiscent of cedar, nuts, nutmeg, cinnamon, and ginger. In the first third there was also a delicious under-note and OK laugh, it reminded me of sweet lamb cutlets. Just into the second third the sweetness picked-up bringing a zesty, lemon sherbetness until it was replaced with an exquisite new taste, lovely but I?ve nothing in my memory banks on how to describe it, or to explain the tingle on the lips it leaves ... but it does! Into the last third and the cigar became richer and earthier with the peppers easily to the fore. Note: The final third was to some degree marred as a great smoking experience due to the build up and taste of tar at the tip. I think to be honest it was my fault, I was enjoying the cigar so much I had upped my usual puff rate and it was that which had caused it. To get around it, and get rid of the disgusting tar taste I had to smoke the cigar from a little further up the tip than I would otherwise do.
Overall: Terrific little Cuban. The flavours profile is full and exciting combined with a mellow smoothness and balance. If I were ever going to a Fiesta I?d like one of these with me!
Newbee Caution: This cigar because it is very easy to smoke and because of its of sweetness and quality of flavour is deceptive in its strength, it seems to be light, it isn?t, it?s medium to full and you only find out when you go to stand up. You have been warned!

Roughly the same as my experience a short while back. Especially with regards to it just dropping off towards the end (I went for damp toast...)
