So I'm on record as saying with the exception of the Churchill line from Davidoff I find Davidoff to be overrated, however I know many find the Zino range to be a superb and affordable Davidoff.
Well I had to give it a whirl, so it looks beautiful nothing I wouldn't expect from Davidoff, smell on the pre light pure barnyard hay,
This a robusto was a bit firm, firmer than I would like but hey time for the cut, a trusty V cut as I prefer a tighter draw, pre light draw.......wow a creamy sweet coffee note like its at the line of almost me questioning has this been sweetened.
It hasn't but just a nice surprise so she lights lovelly draws perfectly, and boom a very woodsy creamy with just a dash of spice. As it progresses and on the retro the cream and spice come to the front, its flaming flavourful and damn if I'm not impressed. Sweet and baker spice cream with woodsy is just so up my alley.
As it progresses we get some more pepper to the spice dimension, push this too hard the wood notes can go earthy to bitter earthy. But I didn't rush it past the wood notes in general.
As always the retro will give you the full picture, with that cream spice and pepper just pushing through and tantalising the taste buds. I intended to take pics throughout this, however what we have is limited because I simply got too involved with just sitting back relaxing contemplating on the week and my sermon and service this morning.
Since this is my first cigar in some time I just enjoyed it, beautiful white grey ash, whispy white smoke plenty of it just a real gorgeous white. It left me and the room smelling like sweet wood very nice after smell and we all know how cigars can Smell after the fact.
So are they worth the hype, for a more affordable Davidoff that isnt as pricey as the Churchill range they are a great smoke, spanking.
My only advice is they are more affordable if you are on your travels like most cigars , buying them at home isnt the most affordable thing but they are a superb smoke.
