  • Party Series D No1 2004

This afternoon a very special cigar. A Party Series D No1 2004. My first was gifted to me from WoolyWill of the old Club Habanos, as part of a very generous Secret Santa! His generosity blew me a a aye, almost as much as the amazing cigar, which I smoked on my birthday, inside my local Antwerp cafe.

I then bought a box of 25, af a Cgars auction in 2012 for £17.66 each! A price we'll sadly never the the likes of again, for even a regular Havana of this size. I split that box with another friend from that site Neil, Habanos Martyn, will remember.

So today, after many yrs of being the last one, sitting in a singles Humi, I finally decided to take it down my local pub & burn it.

I just had my Cholesterol & other blood results today, all down within normal vales, after losing weight since February, when it was borderline.

The cigar itself is an imposing size, perfect wrapper, perfect construction. No coffee this time but a pint of Wadsworth's X . The draw was perfect, by just punching it & remained so. The ash only fell x2. The flav, although not as rich as that first fresh one, had mellowed but still a delightful vintage Party profile. Lasted 75mins of enjoyment, in the August sunshine. Enjoy your smoke today.

Congrats on the clean bill results. Superb smoke to celebrate with as well.

No box for me, just a single, which I smoked in June 2015 pleased I got to smoke one of these awesome cigars, after a long day working a 2nd job as a lock keeper on the Basingstoke Canal.

Thanks. I used to fish the Basinstoke Canal from '73-00. Caught my first Tench there, which was my first fish of 2lb+. Then caught my first Pike & later my first Dble & my first x3 dble Pike in a session. So sad how it has declined.

Sounds like good fishing? Restored by volunteers through that time (reopened 1991) & is now a designated SSSI. You must’ve seen quite some change over that time! I worked for the BCA in my brief stint as PT lock keeper & found it to be a really serene place, at least on the sections through St.Johns to Greywell - not so much at the Wey navigation end).
