    Partagas Coronas Junior TUBOS
    Size: 117mm x 40 ? Coronitas
    Smoke time: 47 mins.

Cigar box date: Unknown. Standard band ?A? embossed ? 2002 to current. New style tube suggests date 08 on.

Note: Prior to 2002 this cigar was machine made. Since Totalmente a mano.

Appearance: Slightly bumpy with a toothy grained, mid brown wrapper carrying one prominent surface vein almost the entire length of the cigar.

Construction: The cigar felt well packed and had a nice gently resistive quality along its entire length. Light pre-draw. Easy smoking draw. The burn was constant and even and the dark grey ash was well compacted and firm (see pics). Three tap offs. No re-lights or correction required.

Flavour: The pre light aroma is woody tobacco. The smoke started vegetal with a good solid hit of the customary Cuban lemonlike, zesty ?twang? then quickly settled for the first third into wood over sugar with the occasional bite of lemon. In the second third the woodiness picked-up and in variations of wood along with the odd note of spice and a mild saltiness stay like that untill the final third, when the woodiness became more ?rounded? and was joined by warm honied notes and something distant yet akin to what I can only describe as ?dry? Tizer. I enjoyed this smoke far more than I thought I might!.

Overall: A good workmanlike daytime cigar. OK, it doesn?t have the spicy excitement and complexity of the Partagas Shorts or the somber woody power of the Partagas Tres Petit, but it does have a bit of what each of those deliver and does it in a nicely balanced, medium strength fashion. The tobacco strength although there, isn?t too taxing, so for beginners the Partagas Coronas Junior might just be the right smoke for getting to know the Partagas range with.
