Exactly what I've heard from several 'aficionados.' Consensus seems to be hold onto them for 3-5 years to get an ASTOUNDING seegar. However, one quite knowledgeable gent I know sez they should come into their own after only one year. All agree that, although an excellent smoke 'out of the box,' they rilly, rilly need some age on them. (And I agree with the folks wot say they're just too fookin' expensive!)rokkitsci

As far as I am aware, regardless of what one does with the leaves/bundles there is a stage of fermentation that only takes place once the cigar is rolled. Therefore no cigar has gone through this stage when it is sold unless it was aged by the manufacturer once rolled (as per quite a lot of high-end NC's). Therefore while tobacco may be aged the stick is not. It is fair to say that BHK's have had no significant ageing time at HSA.Originally posted by Pantomimehorse View PostI'm all for ageing but aren't these meant to be super aged anyway ?
I don't know if this is a great stick or overpriced tat, I do know I wont have a strong opinion either way for another 2-5 years.Originally posted by Simon BolivarLittle medical correction there Steve, you will surely die...but not from smoking these

ageing definitely....
i'm keeping a box of each size for 5 years; a few singles on the side to see how they're going...."By the cigars they smoke, and the composers they love, ye shall know the texture of men's souls." John Galsworthy
"A good Cuban cigar closes the door to the vulgarities of the world." Franz Liszt
"The most futile and disastrous day seems well spent when it is reviewed through the blue, fragrant smoke of a Havana Cigar." Evelyn Waugh
"Remember, commander, no cigars before launch." a Cuban doctor's orders to an astronaut at Cape Canaveral
