  • Review Series ? Advance notice.

What you can see are the Cuban contingent that, helped by Puff Scotty and Simon Bolivar, I?ve gathered together for a series of Reviews I?m planning for the Summer. Unfortunately, it?s looking pretty much like the sixth berth in ?my? box will remain unfilled. I was hoping to get a Partagas Serie Connoisseur No.1 to complete the set .... but no luck.

However, there will be some gatecrashers, a trio of NC heavyweights are already on their way. These, to be fair, will need a week or two?s box rest before I can start, so I guess I?m looking to start beginning of August.

    The NCs are:-
    Oliva V
    Padilla 1968
    Padilla 1932

I don?t have a batting order, but anyone who wants to smoke along and chip-in with their own Lancero Review is more than welcome.

It is indeed Alex. I don't know exactly how old it is, but it was gifted in by Simon. The Cohiba I think is an 05 gifted by Puff.

Very much looking forward to these reviews. My only experience with the Lancero size was a young Cohiba and it put me off of long and skinny cigars all together. That was a long time ago now though so I'm ready to give some more a shot

                            UPDATE. The NCs are here.

Sent by a kind Italian uncle Mike I never knew I had. Once they?ve had a bit of humi-rest, they'll be joining the Cubans and taking part in my Lancero review series.

Somewhere along their journey the Lanceros picked up a gifted hitch-hiker in the shape of a G-Man 8th Street Custom Roll, which I?ve measured and believe is a Hermosos No 2 (Grand Corona).

The Lancero are from the top:-
Oliva Serie V Ligero Especial ? Lancero
                            Padilla Series 68 Lancero
                            Padilla Signature 1932 Lancero

Thanks Mike for getting me these. I?m really looking forward to reviewing the Lancero and to smoking the Custom Roll, which I think, and someone please correct me if I?m wrong, has to be smoked within the next week or so while the cigar is still ?fresh?, or if not smoked, left for at least a year or so to enable it to get over it?s sick period.

With the customs they need to be smoked within a couple of weeks of rolling or otherwise a year or two.
