How about Switzerland? Cannot help feeling that the cigar shop in the apartment block must have some very competitive prices when compared to those in Germany etc.

They most certainly do, and some very good stuff indeed.

I always thought Gib to give the best value bearing in mind you can buy boxes with some years on them..

Correct me if I am wrong but Gibraltar prices are deemed duty free hence the value. But with value comes limitations on the amount you can take out of the country or across to the Spanish border.
I did the painful border crossing a couple of years ago and even though I stayed within the legal purchases allowed (not that I would ever break the rules or the law[emoji5]️[emoji14]) with some serious value and some lovely aged individual stick. If I remember correctly BHK 56 box for less than ?220 along with some Cohiba Lancero's (which I think were dated 98's) but the queue going home in the evening was a complete pain in the knackers.
