I guess this means that all of us who travel to the USA can now take our cuban cigars with us. Yes? No?

I hope this doesn't mean an sudden increase in price for our Cuban cigars..
I did read somewhere there is a limit...it's similar to what we have when bring stuff from the EU...you have to be able to show its for personal use.

I fear short term prices may increase, I received an email from the LCDH in Knokke over the weekend which outlined the difficulties due to this (and certain companies stockpiling in preparation and a few years of bad cropsOriginally posted by SHAMZ84 View PostI hope this doesn't mean an sudden increase in price for our Cuban cigars..

Read this too. I guess the only consolation is that smaller vitolas (yay) won't be hit as hard. Fingers crossed. The potential increase in US consumption is likely to have an impact across the whole Habanos inventory though : (Originally posted by sheppsea View PostI fear short term prices may increase, I received an email from the LCDH in Knokke over the weekend which outlined the difficulties due to this (and certain companies stockpiling in preparation and a few years of bad crops

I guess there might be an element of that, but there's also a sudden enormous market opening up (US population ? BOTL = still loads). If things are supply and demand, then you'd presume increased supply, except, well...Cuba. That and you can't suddenly magic up smokes (unfortunately).Originally posted by Shaun View PostCall me a cynic but its interesting how this email comes out just as anericans are allowed to bring back cubans into the country. A little bit of hoping to cash in and create a mad rush maybe...
Who knows, this might see NCs seeing real CC competition inside the US - combine that with the weird FDA rulings of late, and maybe there might be some innovation from Latin America.
I'm just yammering on, CCs were already not exactly cheap, but I guess I wonder how much prices will increase, and how many sticks will become scarce.
On the whole, I'm for normalisation of relations between Cuba and the USA, but that's the philosopher in me. The cigar smoker in me is a bit *sigh*.
