Visiting a farm in Cuba. The sales pitch!

Good to hear there might be some farms doing ok enough and into the cigars not dipped in honey or rum!!!

There's a docuvid or some German dude who flies his motorbike over and goes on a solo tour off the beaten track. Thats my dream...

It?s just finding the real ones not tourist traps but think that?s the same many countries of the world, you can easily get terrible food for tourists even in Rome.

I can?t wait to go back (next year!) can?t see me convincing my other half to get on the back of the bike across that distance though sadly. I did love that video series hopefully will get chance for adventures like that in the future

I?ve been to Vinales, these tourist traps are all over, we got stuck in a tour at one point with a similar pitch. Gave us all a smoke which they insisted must be dipped in honey like Che would have done!

They were the mildest smokes I?ve ever tasted but imho so flavourless that they were pointless to smoke. They did make a quality cocktail though. They then tried to sell us cigars at higher prices than buying from a world class roller there, honey in recycled plastic bottles and a local rum all of which way over their value in Cuba.

The difficulty with Vinales is finding the real farms and ideally stumbling across someone that just rolls for himself. As with a lot of tourist driven economies there?s always dubious practises trying to take advantage of it but if you find an authentic roller or farm I?m sure they?re fantastic smokes

[MENTION=13434515]Krist[/MENTION] has done a visit to Vinales. He traded me two of the farm rolls he brought back and boy did they smell fresh. I smoked one a short while ago and it was very good.

Sounds like there's some serious sales pitch going on here. I'd be disappointed i think if I went on a farm visit like this.

Some claims like only the farm rolls are organic and inhalable...

Obviously he's trying to sell 50 cigars to each person.
