  • European cigar shopping

    Morning all,

Apart from the obvious choices of Andorra or Gibraltar where is the cheapest place to buy cigars (Cubans) in Europe?

    Spain or Switzerland probably

I found Lithuania airport dirt cheap.
I was looking forward to sharing my finds but Covid scuppered that. By cheap I mean literally 1/10th the uk price.

        Hi David,

Are you serious about Lithuania? that would make a box of Montecristo No.2’s about £80 if you’re talking 1/10 of the price and that’s a hell of a lot cheaper than Cuba, Gibraltar or Andorra!!
what did you buy there and did you check the authenticity code?

I was told Germany is the cheapest country in Europe, not been for a while myself though.

            In my experience for price this is roughly the order;

            Cuba
            Andorra
            Gibraltar
            Spain
            Switzerland

            Germany
France/Italy (and a lot of other countries roughly around the same cost as France)

            UK

For me Spain would be the choice outside of Andorra in Europe because of the easy access to aged stock though

Gibraltar is now more expensive than Spain, prices rose over 20% in Gib last year, don’t know why, but they did - so no more Stagnetto for me😎

Spain is the cheapest in Europe IMO. About 60% of UK prices. Everywhere else seems to be much the same which is still much cheaper than the UK. Of course Brexit has fucked everything up for us so you can only bring 50 cigars back with you so make sure you take some mules with you. I'm off to Madrid next summer and my 2 kids are both in their 20s so between me, Susie and them I'll get 200 in the suitcases

Did not know that, Cuba has risen prices around 25% on average in two years from what I’ve seen to well over that for Cohiba. Andorra and Spain price lists don’t yet seem to reflect close to that so I’m expecting some heavy price increases next year in those two at least if not everywhere.

Ain’t gonna happen. Cuba was a one off because the gov realised they can easily get a higher profit on cigars no problem, you can’t just do the same in foreign countries.
So Andorra is likely the cheapest place to buy Cubans today I guess.
