Reading the reviews of the local shops, be on your toes… tales of adding made up prices onto the advertised cards, double charging on debit cards, take no shit fellas…

Just got back, had hardly anything at the airport duty free was literally 3 small packs of Vegafina and a couple of packs of 5 Davidof. The smaller humidor had some local cigars.

I found 3 tobacco shops the one next door to the Indian restaurant watch the owner, he is a sly sneaky bastard and will rip you off, the other two on the same road of the strip were more reasonable. However none had anything worth videoing, they had some loose Romeo julieta, Nubs, Comacho some Cohiba and various small ring gauge Cubans ( I don’t like anything under a 42 so didn’t pay much interest).

I came back with the one and only box of Olivia V double Robustos, also got a box of the local La Regentas which I found to be a very smooth/creamy cheap smoke, they seem to be the premium local cigars available. They come in an aluminium cedar lined tube and are cracking quality for €4.25 each.

What was the price on the Oliva V, if you don't mind me asking?

€123 but it was from the shifty shop owner, with more time you could probably arrange for one of the others to order you one in, we were only there for 4 nights and left it to the last day to buy. Give the La Regenta a go while your there, they are pretty decent.

I wish… no that was for 10, they retail for £266 U.K., so it’s a little bit of a saving, I’m hoping I can do better in Turkey in June.

Romeos were €10 each, Cohiba €35, Nubs €14.
At the airport the Davidof x5’s were around €65 or €75

But I’d recommend to pick up a La Regenta single for round the pool, they’ve bulked out my humidor and I’ll most probably get a box of 25 every year… I'm newish to cigars and I’m looking forward to warmer evenings to enjoy them all.

Ah, I didn't know they came in 10s. I picked up 15 or so (in the boxes of 3) from Marseille duty free for 150+ euros last year and thought for a moment I'd been royally screwed.

I'm pretty new too, all things considered. Currently, I'm just trying everything and anything I can get my hands on. I have family who visit Lanzarote from time-to-time so maybe I can put an order in

Yeah it's PDC. I always bring some from home to enjoy as it's the first warm weather smoke I will have had ( come every year at this time ). So far apart from the HDM Petit Robustos ( which my mate wanted ) I haven't seen anything in my wheelhouse. The ONE box I have seen was some Partagas but not a fan. Can see me not bringing anything home this year. Last year all I could get was some tubos (boxes) of RYJ no 2 and 3 and I only got them as I didn't want to return empty handed.

Thanks. Maybe the airport will suddenly have an influx of cigars in duty free .... just as a flying pig takes off.

Any particular place in PDC you would recommend ?
