We took the train from Málaga as I remember the cigar shops were well stocked last visit but this time was a bit of a bust when it comes to regular stock in all 5 of the shops I went to.
No shops in either city has Bolivar, Diplomaticos, ERdM, VR, SLR, QdO, SCdlH, PL, LGC, SP... Not a single stick
Piles of Cohiba, Trini and the ubiquitous red, brown and blue fancy boxes of RyJ, Monte & Partagas.

One shop has floor piles of GRs, ELs, LCdH releases as pictured.

Of course, no REs anywhere. 50,000 boxes all gone!

The common man is no longer their intended market obviously, so long as people buy this overpriced stock there'll be no need to cater to us.

I was in that shop a couple of weeks ago, saw the same. I'm a little surprised the Montecristo Carmen haven't sold out yet. Not many of them and a unique size, packaging, single-country release. Usually that combination is popular with flippers, though now €1,250 for a box of 10.
Did you ask about the price of the Montecristo Supremos?

I was going to say, Montecristo Supremos, surprised to see them still around.

Those piles suggest they're not popular.

I didn't even bother asking as I kind of know the rough price from when I asked in Barca a year ago. Shocking compared to the price upon release

The Carmen are actually €1000 for 10 but still eye watering

They had Ambar too at €100 each

Exactly. Those high end sticks are everywhere and they're literally gathering dust.

I don't think many folks are buying them though John which is good news as it might make Habanos rethink their properties.

If those pics are from Estanco Alonso, then there's definitely more stock available than when I was there a few months ago, and there was plenty then. Trouble is, theres not a great saving on those really high end sticks, so not really worth it unless they're an every day smoke for you. Conditions were quite poor from that shop too, but they has a much bigger selection than others

The Carmen in 10 count were €1,000 on release. The official price went up to €1,250 on 11/07/2025. If they were selling them €1,000 you maybe should have bought a box! That shop does check the price though.
The Monte Supremo are now €2,375 per box of 25 in Spain. €525 when they came out. €2,375 is ridiculous.

It was indeed Alonso. It had loads of stock but no actual basics.

Really! They went up in price to €1250? I bought a box in Murcia in El Corte Inglés in September for €1000! I got lucky

That price on the Supremos is ridiculous. No wonder they're still kicking around

Well done! I have a few Spanish retailers trying to sell me these at the €1,250. They've gone off the boil on the secondary market. I see some enquiries at €1,500 but not much interest. Also, they aren't very good. I smoked one in Seville in January. I found it bitter and one-dimensional. After a few years, when and if Spain sells out, there should be interest.

I did buy them as an investment to be honest. Your review has removed all temptation so many thanks for that 😁😁

The higher line stock is everywhere as you say. Recent trip to Germany more encouraging with "average" stock - Cuaba, Punch, ERDM, Bolivar BBF. Even saw Choix Supreme this time, which haven't seen for a long time. They get so little stock through that only really looking to sell by the stick. Maybe its a good sign, but clearly never any consistency with supply
