  • Cuba November 2025!

    Hi Folks,
So off to Havana on Sunday (spending night at Gatwick Saturday), for the Friends of Partagas Event, registration on Monday, starts officially on Tuesday. Anyone else attending?
My US friends are having trouble getting there due to the Government shut down, they haven't received their visa's & the Air Traffic Controllers are running massively under manned.

I am only attending the first two days but hopefully when we move to Varadao, they will meet up with me, when the tour visits the area.

I'll try to update you on the latest stock & pricing.

And I'm curious to know what food, drink, electricity and mosquitoes are like? Seriously, have a great trip. Hope you get a chance to wonder around town. What's the word on the street?

I think I may finally have this CAD under control...

I have experienced it all last year. Won't make it this year but hopefully back at it next year. Simon have a good time and report on your observations and experiences.

See you soon! I arrived yesterday. Will probably go to the opening Partagas event, not the gala. I might be in Viñales then. Bring mosquito repellent. Lots of paracetamol.

Food and drink no issue. A cold front came in on Tuesday so it’s windy and cool. Keeps the mosquitos down a bit.
i have meetings today and tomorrow but should see some shops tomorrow afternoon. Clubs are quiet. I was in Bleco last night maybe 20 people. Could be because it’s cool. It’s 25 degrees today and I see people wearing coats!

4-6 hour power cuts daily in Havana. Some places are lucky. Hotels and some casas have generators. I found out last night why I don’t usually get power cuts where I am. My apartment is on the same block as the national radio station broadcast centre. So that’s handy.

I'd love to go to Cuba but it sounds so unpredictable. I'm annoyed on holiday if it rains never mind a power cut.
It sounds like a place where only a seasoned visitor would know what to do and anybody that isn't would have a tough time!

Good job cigars and rum do not require electricity.
