Edinburgh - Pit Stop Recommendations?

I have time for 1, possibly 2 cigars on Saturday afternoon in Edinburgh (depending on location as I'll be near Haymarket).

Castle View Cigars seemed to tick the boxes being close to the train station but I don't think they have a smoking area outside?

Happy to take my own if there's any nice spots where I can get a drink and watch the world go by.

Quite a few places in Edinburgh. These are my favourites and easy to get to from the city centre


1. The Beehive Inn on The Grassmarket - huge beer garden out the back. Nice sun trap from 12noon onwards

2. Brewdog on Lothian Road. About 30 outdoor seats

3. The Glasshouse hotel at the top of Leith Walk. Huge rooftop garden with gorgeous view of Calton Hill

4. Indigo Yard in the West End. A few outdoor seats but often full.

5. Hotel du Vin has a bothy and (very slow) table service

6. The Puffin Rooms near Quarter mile but you can't smoke your own

7. The Outhouse on Broughton Street. Great beers at decent prices. Beer garden out back

8. Sheraton Hotel is right next to Brewdog on Lothian Road if you fancy a cocktail on the smoking terrace


Note that there is no smoking indoors Scotland so all of the above are outdoors

All of the about except №6 are smoke your own

All except №1 are covered and heated
