  • Lauras 2003 vintage sampler

I've been considering buying one of these samplers http://www.cgarsltd.co.uk/lauras-200...er-p-3373.html, because I would like to taste a few different kinds of well-aged Cuban cigars. But as a newbie I have a few questions, as I don't want to waste my money. I hope that they don't sound too stupid to you more experienced smokers.

Are these cigars still going to be in a good condition to smoke after 9 years of aging, or are they just intended as collector's items? I know that C.Gars is a reputable supplier, but the price seems suspiciously cheap. Do you think that they have been stored in the right conditions and would be good to smoke throughout the course of this year?

    Thanks for your advice.

Cgars would not sell substandard products by any stretch of the imagination! All of the smokes there are by very reputable brands so you'll be quids in. There are many different samplers on the site though, so slightly more aimed at a beginner such as myself or you so consider some of those too. Just my opinion

This is a good sampler that may suite you a bit more. Not aged but should all be good to smoke straight after delivery, maybe give them a month or so to rest in your humi first though to make sure

      Or this one

And if you don't like overly long smokes like me, or if you don't have much time to smoke this is a great one, at the same price as your original

That looks like a very good pack and after 9 years they should be smoking nicely no need to worry cigars (generally) improve with age like a fine wine or a MILF.

Now i prefer to ask a different question than everyone els here instead of showing you samplers im going to ask what flavours and strength would you enjoy in a cigar i dont believe in starting with mild cigars as some of them available are enough to put people off them for life.

        PS. steer clear of guantanimos

Thanks for the advice James. I will definitely take a look at those samplers. @Reaver2145: In my limited experience, I tend to prefer earthy, leathery, spicy flavours. My two favourites so far have been the Cohiba Robusto and the Bolivar Bonita. On the other hand, the honey, hay-like taste of the Cuaba Traditionale wasn't my cup of tea.

If you like the earthy leathery flavours i would recommend the Ramon Allones small club coronas they are stronger than what most people would suggest to start with but i think they would be right up your ally and the montie edmundos are worth a mention as well.

Thanks Reaver, will give them a go. I feel that I need to extend my repertoire!

Yea, the more you try the more you learn Crusse. Which is why I have learnt next to nothing so far haha
