  • Fundadores-Parta Lusitanias-Bolivar coronas gigantes

Looking at one of these three cigars as my final box for the year.
Have a reyes box due any day now.
Fundadores - a lot of reviews saying that they are really nice cigars, wondering if they are just the same as the reyes. 8.1 as a review avg.
Partagas Lusitanias - Anybody tried these, I have read reviews etc, good to know if someone has recently smoked one. 8.9 as a review avg.
Bolivar coronas gigantes - This is the one that is favourite as final box, the fact that it is a bolivar puts it ahead of the rest on points. 9.0 as a review avg.
If someone has smoked all three that would be perfect.
Just looking at 1 of the 3 in a 25 box.
Views on these would be helpful.

Depends on your tastes, Fundys can be great but there is a lot of hype around them and hype can often spoil the experience. Lusi's are exceptional, very mild but can be a non stop fudgey butterscotch ride. I'm not a huge Boli fan so can't really comment fairly on those

If you want to be smoking some of them within the next 6 to 12 mths Personally I would leave the Fundadores out, these need to rest in the Humi for quite a while, years preferably.
Been a while since I had the Bolivar Gig. but they(although better with age) are flavoursome young.
I'd go for the Party Lusi.
Again better with age, but these are just a stunning Cigar straight out of the blocks, so many fine flavours Creamy Cheese, Toasty, Earthy, with a hint of mild spice and more.
        medium+ bodied.
        Enjoy whatever you choose

As a avid bolivar fan i can say the CGs are good on the full side on medium body but not harsh but they tend to suffer from being tight in my experience.

Trinnys are just a damn good smoke all round and ive never had construction issues with them.

As for the partagas ive never had a lucy but the 8-9-8 varnished as a substitute are damn good but a bit hit and miss construction wise.

Can't go wrong with a Lusi, if you can find any of the old Gold Band Fundadores they are mellow and a lot different to the newer band, which as previously stated need a bit of age on them.
Boli's are a good full on smoke but also benefit from some age, I've not tried the Gigantes but the general consensus with the brand is they need age to lose that harshness.

Another vote for the Lusi here, though I would never think of them as mild? All cigars that size tend to start off mild but with a few inches left the Lusi tends to ramp it up a lot! Or that's what I find anyway, though I have only had one box from '03 and still have 7 of them left therefore can't say my experience of them is very varied!
To me they were brilliant young and they're excellent with a bunch of years on them too, still going strong so can't see that changing, wonder how long I can make the rest of them last??

I have gone for a 10 box of the Lusi and will see how they are.
Bolivar is 25 or 50 box only, would have gone for a 10 box as well.
                Thanks for all the info.

A 10 box of the Lusi's is a great shout. I have an early '11 box doing time in my humi.

With the other choices why not pick up 5 singles if each from Cgars or JJFox and ask them the box codes so you can see how you get on with them and see how they develop before pulling the trigger on a full box.

I have decided to go for a wild card as well -
                    The Monty A in a 5 pack.

They seem so uncomfortable its unreal! I'd still buy some now though!
A cigar is not measured by its cost - It is measured by how much it burns your fingers
