Even a separate button on the forum page where forum members could post advice and experiences. It seems its the Cohiba's that are the favorites of the forgers. This box is easy, a 10 box of these has a single layer of cigars, the madaro line has a cardboard outer onto which the seals are placed the actual box should have nothing. Check out http://www.cubancigarwebsite.com/ for lots of info like this.

Saying all that the best way of not buying fakes is to buy from authorised dealers, check with the local distributer e.g hunters. Or from trusted BOTL.

Knowledge of how cigar bands look helps, fakes often have little telltale differences, the big one being the wrong amount of white square rows on Cohiba fakes for example, or the wrong red ink used on Partagas, no embossing etc etc. Also knowing what year Limited Editions were released, for example Cohiba did a Pyramides LE in 2006, if you see some with a 2008 band on then that sets alarm bells ringing.

Main rule though is, if it seems too good to be true they are most likely fake.

Did you mean 2008 Dave? Even I wouldn't be conned by 2018

Rog, Sligub and Dave, your help and tips are invaluable thank you. I've not had a Cohiba cigar yet but always wanted a box for the cabinet. I will certainly be on guard now. I know someone who bought one of those glass top Cohiba box's last year and after reading previous threads here I realized they were fake. I told my mate this and he was gutted. I was in the process of handing him some money to get me a box!!! lucky escape! thanks to you guys. Cant thank you enough.
