Do you have trouble keeping your hands off your humidor?

I managed to resist the temptation last night and I have a couple of Trini Reyes in a box which is on top of the Lanceros so hopefully I can manage to leave them to rest for a bit longer and maybe I will forget about them again.

I have no problem whatsoever as I have enough that they get to age without being sacrificed early.

One of the reasons I buy some cheaper smokes like JLP Conservas, PL Panetellas, LSdL Cremas and RyJ Clarines .... not that there's anything wrong with any of those .... just gives other more expensive stuff a better fighting chance at ageing.

Not really lucky, I just sacrificed other pursuits to make this happen.

Good thinking Tipp, I did the same for a few years & then my wife took a liking to the JLPs. LOL.

I find that having some NC's in stock helps with that temptation. Even the cheaper Cubans need a bit of aging before they realise their potential but most NC's are ready to smoke when you buy them. So I alternate between Cubans and NC's to give my Cubans a chance to age. I also get to try a wider variety of smokes this way.

It comes down to resource and critical mass. My stash has reached the point where I top up the desktops periodically from my ageing stock. I am still buying to age and buy more than I smoke (but I don't somke a lot so not too hard).

I really try hard not to smoke CC's young, they are rarely anything close to their best and sometimes taint my view if I smoke early ('I don't like this stick, I don't like that stick') when they can be great in a few years.

I hear you but the temptation is huge! I think I have a couple of Cohiba Lanceros from around 2002 so I'm going to dig around and find them and see if they will hold the Santos craving until I forget they are there.

Yes very hard to keep my hands off! That is also the reason I use to justify why I need to build up a big collection!

I also stock a few NC's that don't need the age as much and some cheaper Cuban sticks like the JLP and some H.Up Regalias.... I still struggle to leave the golden greats alone though!

I have just started to put some cigars away, not so much to age (although this will happen and will be an added bonus) but because I enjoy certain cigars and they are about to become more difficult to find. The problem with cigars being with drawn or limited editions are you fall for them and before you know where you are, you struggle to get any more.
